Yoga is one of the best forms of movement and can benefit EVERYONE! However, if you are new to yoga or if your body is stiff or in pain, regular yoga classes can be too much at first.

By focusing on the principles of anatomy and biomechanics, I can help you to develop an increased sense of body awareness while learning how to move more effectively in YOUR optimal and pain-free range of motion so that strength, mobility / range of motion, and ease will increase—naturally and steadily.

I am committed to teaching an effective, safe, and meaningful practice that benefits the whole person, both on and off the mat.

The Benefits:

You will be amazed at how quickly you begin to notice improvements in your physical and mental well-being, as you discover that yoga:

  • increases strength, balance, stability, and mobility
  • develops breath awareness
  • relieves stress and anxiety
  • promotes relaxation
  • improves the ability to focus
  • decreases pain and discomfort
  • fosters grace and ease

My Story:

Years ago, wanting to try something new to stay in shape, I began taking yoga classes in my neighbourhood and it wasn't very long before I noticed the positive effects. Due to my increasing awareness, old patterns of movement began to shift and very quickly my back pain decreased significantly, my body got stronger, my mind seemed to become clearer, and I just felt calmer and "lighter". I continued taking classes on a regular basis and life was good.

Some years ago, due in part to the effects of a personal life-changing event, I became acutely aware of the mind/body connection and how one can affect the other as I found myself in the grips of anxiety. With the support of friends and family, my faith, yoga, and meditation, I managed to stay focused and composed as I made my way back to ME.

During that time, I successfully completed my teacher training (RYT200) at Sun Yoga in Oakville, Ontario (Dec 2013). While teaching at Andrea Soos Yoga Studio in Dundas, On, I continued my studies in the area of Therapeutic Yoga with Susi Hately of Functional Synergy (Calgary), and have completed the following additional trainings (so far!):

Kinesiology of Yoga
Therapeutic Yoga Intensive
Mechanics of Breathing
Anatomy / Anatomy for Yoga Therapists
Teaching Sun Salutations with Biomechanical Intelligence

Currently, I offer private sessions, please contact me for details.
